The Musee du blason is of great historical interest in Carcassonne. It is located at 11 rue Frederic Soulie. It translates as the “Museum of Coat of Arms and Crests”.
Here you can expect to find numerous glass paintings and works. Many have a religious influence with works of stained glass prominent.
You can also view drawings on the croisade albigeoise related to the Cathares. The battle of 1209 is depicted in some works with castles in Termes, Beziers and Castelnaudary.
Groups are welcomed as well as schools. It is open all year round from ten in the morning to six in the evening with extended opening times in the summer. The option of a guided tour is normally available on Tuesdays.
